Below are some helpful FAQs aimed to help you better understand our commission structure. If you have more questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out to us!
What are the new minimum activity requirements?
To keep your Active Status and continue earning commissions, you’ll need to refer at least one new member each year. It’s our way of ensuring everyone stays engaged and benefits from the program.
When do the new commission tiers and activity requirements go into effect?
The new tiered commission structure launches September 1, 2024.
Current partners will have a transition period through March 31st, 2025. See the grace period FAQ below for more info.
Are you getting rid of 25% recurring lifetime commissions?
Nope! We’ve actually INCREASED our recurring lifetime commissions to 30%! Once you meet Tier 2 activity requirements, you’ll be bumped to 30% recurring commission for the LIFE of the membership PLUS be eligible for our new Target Bonuses.
For those partners in Tier 1, they’ll now receive 20% recurring commission for the first year of the membership.
Can you explain the new tiered commission structure?
Absolutely! There’s 3 Tiers that progressively reward you more at each level! The more you refer, the more you earn. Here’s how it breaks down:
TIER 1 – Referral Program
New MINIMUM ACTIVITY REQUIREMENT to have Active Status + receive commissions
- Activity Requirement: 1+ new member/year
- Recurring Commission: 20% for the FIRST year of membership
- Target Bonus: None, once you hit 36 new members, you move to Tier 2 + start earning recurring lifetime commissions as well as target bonuses.
TIER 2 – Partner Program
- Activity Requirement: 36+ new members/year (average 3/month)
- Recurring Commission: 30% recurring for the life of the membership
- Target Bonus: PLUS $100 bonus for every 10 new members. Once you hit 100 new members, you move to Tier 3.
TIER 3 – Partner Program
- Activity Requirement: 100+ new members/year (average 8/month)
- Recurring Commission: 50% on the first purchase for new members, then 30% recurring for the life of the membership
- Target Bonus: $150 bonus for every 10 new members
How do the new Target Bonuses work?
Our new Target Bonuses are our way to reward you for continuing to actively promote. They increase from one tier to the next and continue as long you actively refer new members.
Here’s the Target Bonuses for each tier:
- Tier 1: No Target Bonuses
- Tier 2 Target Bonus: Earn $100 bonus for every 10 new members referred once you’ve referred 36 new members in a year
- Tier 3 Target Bonus: Earn $150 bonus for every 10 new members referred once you’ve referred 100 new members in a year
How do I track my progress towards the next tier?
You can track your progress through your reports within your affiliate dashboard, which provides real-time updates on your new member sign ups. Or reach out to our affiliate manager, Kayla, at kayla@carrot.com, and she can confirm your Tier + progress.
Will my commission rate change automatically if I qualify for the next tier?
Yes! Once you meet the requirements for the next tier, your commission rate + target bonuses will automatically adjust, and you’ll start earning the new tier rate right away.
Can I move down a tier if my activity decreases?
Yes, if your referral activity decreases + you no longer meet the requirements for your current tier, you will move down to the appropriate tier based on your annual new member count.
What happens if I don’t refer any new members in a year + my status becomes Inactive?
If you don’t send any new members our way in a year, you’ll become inactive, and your commissions will be paused. But don’t worry — to reactivate your eligibility simply refer a new member to get back to Active Status + begin receiving commission payments again.
Is there a grace period for current affiliates to adjust to the new standards?
Yes, there is! Current affiliates will have a grace period until March 31, 2025 (~ 6 months) to continue earning your current 25% recurring commission AND to qualify for Tier 2 and Tier 3.
Beginning April 1, 2025 current affiliate partners will be moved into their appropriate commission Tier based on the their March 2024 – March 2025 performance.
If you currently meet Tier 2 or Tier 3 activity requirements, then you automatically start in the appropriate tier and begin earning the higher rate + become eligible for our new Target Bonuses.
If you’re currently referring 60+ new members per year, you will automatically start in Tier 2 at the higher commission rate and be eligible for the Tier 2 Target Bonuses.
If you’re currently referring 100+ new members per year, you will automatically start in Tier 3 at the higher commission rate and be eligible for the Tier 3 Target Bonuses.
What do I need to do to have an Active Status + eligible to receive commission payments?
To be a partner in good standing with an Active Status + eligible to receive commissions, it’s easy as 1-2-3:
- Refer at least one member per year
- Submit your completed W9 form
- Provide your PayPal email for payments
